Limited access to sanitary products and pervasive menstrual taboos hinder women's health and education. Lack of education and inadequate facilities in schools exacerbate stigma, leading to frequent absences and diminished economic opportunities, necessitating innovative solutions.
The Gen-Dev Hackathon would be organised by following five key milestones:
Formed teams submit their application to participate by 15 May 2024.
All teams are provided a preliminary solution concept development task on 16 May 2024 surrounding one of three randomly selected themes with a period of 48 hours to complete.
Six teams are shortlisted on 19 May 2024 for participation in the final hackathon round. They will also be given individual feedback.
Six teams will be given 72 hours to build a prototype of their solution on 21 May 2024.
On 28 May 2024, all teams are required to participate in the Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024 celebration to present their solutions wherein a jury will select winners and runners-up of the hackathon.
The winning team will be awarded a BDT 50,000 cash prize and offered a paid 3-month fellowship at Acme AI Ltd. to hone their craft and build leadership skills.
Two Runners-Up teams will be awarded BDT 15,000 each in addition to having express entry to be part of the South Asian LLM Network.
Verification of each member of the team is required to process a team application. This includes submission of the CVs, university ID cards, and/or graduation or provisional certificates.
